What is FACS' Fair Billing Policy
Most enterprise software pricing charges you per license regardless of whether your team is using it. At FACS, we believe you should only be billed for what you use.
The short version
-
Our Fair Billing Policy applies to FACS plans purchased via the FACS website and paid by credit card or self-service invoicing only.
-
When you purchase a paid plan for your account, you’ll be billed for all active users that require a paid license.
-
Any change to the number of active users in your account is reflected in your next billing statement. If a paid user becomes inactive, we’ll add a prorated credit to your account for the unused time.
-
Your account must maintain at least one active user.
How you’re billed for users
You’re billed for every user on your account who holds a paid, active license. Some roles require a paid license, while others are free:
Paid roles:
-
Account Administrators
-
Account Users
Free roles:
-
Account Reviewer
-
Account Read Only
-
Account Guest
NOTE: When an invited user accepts their invitation to join your account, they’ll be billed as an active user starting the day they accept the invitation.
Monthly vs. annual licenses
New paid users start on a monthly license. At any time, you can also purchase annual licenses — at a discounted rate — which FACS automatically applies to your monthly users.
-
An annual license runs through your account’s anniversary date and does not automatically renew — on the anniversary, any user still on an annual license converts back to monthly automatically.
-
If a user on an annual license leaves your account before the anniversary date, we’ll credit your account for the unused portion of that license.
-
Available credit can be applied toward any future FACS invoice — including licenses, training, onboarding, and add-ons.
TIP: You can only purchase annual licenses up to your current user limit - this prevents our clients from accidentally over purchasing licenses they end up not needing.
Adding new users during your billing period
If you add new users with a paid license partway through the billing period, we’ll only charge for the time used:
Example: Your account is on the Pro plan, paying monthly at $93.00 USD per license. Ten days into your billing period, you add a new paid user, with 20 days remaining in the period. Prorated cost: ($93.00 ÷ 30 days) × 20 days = $62.00.
How inactive users affect billing
Paid users are only billable while they’re active in FACS. If a user is set to inactive, we’ll add a prorated credit to your account, which is applied toward future payments such as new users or your next renewal.
Example: Your account is on the Pro plan, paying monthly at $93.00 per license. Fifteen days into your billing period, a user is set to inactive, with 15 days remaining. Prorated credit: ($93.00 ÷ 30 days) × 15 days = $46.50.
When you’ll see charges
You’ll see your first charge or invoice from FACS on the day you purchase a paid plan. You’ll also see charges:
-
On your monthly renewal date, if you pay monthly.
-
On your annual renewal date, if you pay annually.
-
Anytime you add another license to your account
