How do RFIs work?

The standard FACS RFI template is designed to manage contractor requests for clarification about drawings, specifications, or other project requirements.

Key Fields and Sections

 

General

  • Number (Required)

  • Subject

  • Due Date

  • Assignee

  • Date Initiated (Required, defaults to today)

  • Creator (Auto-filled)

Details

  • Question – What clarification is being requested?

  • Assumption – Proposed approach by the contractor

  • Spec Section – Select from Specification Section list

  • Location – Select one or more from Location list

  • Schedule Impact – Checkbox (if applicable)

  • Cost Impact – Checkbox (if applicable)

  • Response – Response from owner/representative

  • Submitted By

  • Response By

 

Additional Features

  • RFIs follow this workflow:
    Pending → Submitted → Under Review → Responded

Responded status is locked. Only a Project Administrator can move an entry back into Under Review.
