How to edit a Number field

There are multiple types of number fields. Each type allows for a specifically formatted numerical value to be entered.

Different number field types behave in specific ways across the platform:

  • Auto Number: Automatically assigns the next available whole number when an entry is published. These numbers cannot be changed or reused—even if the entry is deleted.

  • Currency: Displays values as U.S. dollars.

  • Number: Displays the entered numerical value.
  • Percent: Displays values with a % symbol.

  • Phone Number: Requires a valid 9-digit phone number.

  • Temperature: Accepts both Fahrenheit and Celsius (defaults to Fahrenheit).

  • Zip Code: Supports both 5-digit and 9-digit ZIP codes.

Each field is designed to validate and format data to ensure consistency and accuracy.

NOTE:  Percent and Number fields allow for  0, 2, or 4 decimal places, depending on setup.
