How to enable Add from Entry

The Add from Entry switch allows select lists to have new values added directly from the document entry.

Data lists are used to populate Catalog fields allowing for consistent information to be selected. On the Settings page of Data Lists, the switch Allow values to be added from Document Entries exists. When selected, this switch allows for new values to be added into the source list -  this means the new value can be used on the current entry and all future entries.

Please follow the steps below to access this area.

Location

Account Settings > List Library

Enable Add from Entry

Within the List Library select the desired Data list to enable. The list can double clicked to open or selected and click the Edit button.

Once the list is opened, select the Settings tab at the top. On the Settings page, click the switch next to Allow values to be added from Document Entries. Click Publish to save the changes.

Now, anytime this list is used in a Catalog - Select Menu field, Users will be able to add new values into the list.

Please see the page How to add new options into a list to learn how this feature works from within a Document Entry.
