FACS is a custom built eConstruction Platform created specifically for each client based on their current documents and forms.
The FACS Platform is designed to help agencies and companies of all sizes transition from outdated paper-based project management to an online, easy to use, eConstruction Platform. FACS accomplishes this by building the Platform custom for each client using their existing documents and forms. The field layout, field names, workflow and permissions of the documents in FACS are designed to match the sample documents provided by each client.
Moving a clients current Word, PDF, Excel or Access based documents into FACS typically provides the following benefits:
- Simplify, standardize and interface
- Increase access to current project data with FACS cloud hosting making all documents available from any desktop or laptop computer
- Improve communication with field personnel with FACS' native iOS app that runs on both the iPhone and iPad online or offline
- Detail history tracking of each field within all documents
- Instant email alerts when critical documents are updated or commented on
- Improv decision making with roll up reports and dashboards
- Reduce double entry with automatically created Project, and Portal, wide Log Pages
- Improve collaboration with easy document sharing and interactive Comments
- Central platform for all project teams with flexible permissions to ensure everyone has the correct access
As an example, the Hawaii Department of Transportation Highways Division had an Access Database system called Construction Project Management System (CPMS) that was used to manage construction project documents. FACS recreated the identified areas of CPMS in the FACS Platform helping HDOT transition to eConstruction.
This is a screenshot of the Submittal input field within CPMS. Details in this entry needed to be added by the project team and updated each time an email or paper submittal was updated outside the system. Below, see how the submittal area exists in FACS.
The FACS version of Submittals captures the same information as the CPMS system in a cleaner interface that also allowed for an improved workflow. In FACS, the Contractor can initiate the Submittal from within the Platform eliminating the need for duplicate data entry by the project team and providing many of the benefits listed above.
Beyond input fields, FACS can also customize the output of entries and reports to match the current layout of documents used today. Below is an example of a Weekly Statement of Working Days Report in PDF Format.
