Where did the gear icon go?
If the screen is too small, the gear icon will automatically be hidden.
![]()
The Gear icon is automatically hidden when the FACS Platform is viewed on smaller screens or when the browser window is too narrow. This behavior is intentional.
The pages accessed through the Gear icon contain administrative tools and settings that work best on larger displays. To ensure these pages remain usable and easy to navigate, the Gear icon is only displayed when sufficient screen space is available—typically on desktop and laptop screens larger than a tablet.
The Gear icon may be hidden if:
- You are using a tablet or other small-screen device.
- Your browser window is not maximized.
- Your browser is zoomed in significantly.
- Your screen resolution is set to a low value.
- You are working on a laptop with a smaller display.
How to Restore the Gear Icon
Try one or more of the following:
- Zoom out in your browser (Ctrl - on Windows or Cmd - on Mac).
- Maximize your browser window or switch to full-screen mode.
- Close the navigation menu to create additional screen space.
- Increase your screen resolution.
- Try a different browser.
- Access the platform from a larger monitor or display.
In most cases, one of these adjustments will cause the Gear icon to reappear.
NOTE: Once you have navigated to an Administrative page, reducing the browser size, increasing zoom, or moving the browser to a smaller display may cause a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" message to appear.
If this occurs, refer to the article 'Page Cannot Be Displayed' for steps to restore access.
