How to add new options into an existing list

In select areas, new data values can be added into an existing data set directly from the field.

Using the Labor subsection of a Work Report as an example, many projects will populate the Labor data set with a list of all personnel who may be present on the project. As personnel change, the Platform allows for new pieces of data, laborers in this case, to be added into the existing labor data set directly from an entry. By allowing for new laborers to be added the first time new personnel arrive on the job site they will be captured, all subsequent times they can just be selected from the existing list.

The above shows the Labor grid which allows for multiple individual laborers to be selected at the same time. Selecting the New button will allow for the addition of a new labor value into the existing labor data set. When new values are added to an existing data set, they are automatically selected by the system while retaining any previously  selected values.

This image shows the Add New Labor page where a new labor personnel can be added into the projects labor data set.

Some data sets also allow for existing data values to be edited. Whether a data set allows for new values to be added, or existing values to be edited, is determined by the System Administrator.
